A close cousin to the taller 38-430 finish, outside of laboratory circles the 38-400 thread is perhaps far more ubiquitous - appearing on household containers from dairy products to spice jars.  In the lab, this thread is found on name brand bottles such as Wako® Chemicals - in both glass and plastic versions - and Cubitainer®, which offers many packaging options including collapsible containers and “boxed bottles” for easy shipment of liquids.  

Although similar in appearance to the Nalgene® 38-415 thread, the two are not compatible.
